Marsha Summersill is a lifelong Central Floridian, born and raised in Apopka, who has dedicated her career to protecting children and supporting families. For more than 18 years, she worked in child welfare as a child abuse investigator, forensic interviewer, and expert witness, collaborating with local law enforcement and hospitals, including Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Nemours Children’s Hospital, and Advent Health. She went on to lead the Child Protection Team for Orange and Osceola Counties, serve as assistant manager at the Orange County Children’s Advocacy Center, and practice law with Children’s Legal Services, specializing in complex dependency cases. Today, she practices family law at the Orlando Law Group, where she continues to advocate for families during their most difficult moments.

Marsha’s commitment to service extends beyond her profession. She serves on the Orange County Research and Development Authority Board, the Orange County Citizen Corps Council, and the Orange County Drowning Prevention Task Force, working on issues ranging from economic innovation to public safety and community resilience.

Her decision to run for Orange County Commission is deeply personal. After losing her brother due to gaps in Florida’s healthcare system, Marsha knows what it feels like when systems fail families in their moment of need. That experience fuels her determination to make county government more responsive, accountable, and people-focused. She believes Orange County must rise to the challenges of rapid growth, expanding affordable housing, improving transportation and infrastructure, and protecting the environment, while ensuring that families have a local government that truly works for them.

With her proven track record of standing up for children and families, Marsha will bring compassionate, experienced leadership to the Commission and fight for an Orange County where every family can thrive.
